Since the Team Rampage program started in 2015, the staff has improved with the number of coaches but also with the quality of coaches that have gotten involved. One of the newest additions to the staff is former Jesse Bethel High School (Vallejo, CA) standout Rodney Cook. Cook coaches the 13 and under team that features a lot of young promising talent from the North Bay Area.

Cook who graduated from Bethel in 2012, was recently listed in the top 5 players to ever play at Bethel by the Vallejo’s Greatest Athletes. He led Bethel to an appearance at Arco Arena during the section playoffs, and lost in the state playoffs to Deer Valley (Antioch, CA) which featured former Miami Heat player Marcus Lee. He would also win the League MVP that year. His playing career would continue to Consumnes River College (Elk Grove, CA) before transferring to Division 2 school Humboldt State. After his playing career he would coach for the National Junior Basketball League in Vallejo, and also for Team Lillard before coming over to Team Rampage.

The addition of Coach Cook allows the program to continue to develop the young talent at the middle school level, and will also add another trainer to the staff. “Rodney has a great basketball mind, and has the experience that all players and parents should respect” Director Hodges said. “We are excited to have him on board with us, and he will be a huge part of the future of the program” Hodges added. Cook’s 13u team will be in action on July 6th and 7th at the San Francisco Soldiers Summer Showdown, before heading to Las Vegas to compete in the Big Foot Hoops Tournament.
